It was a difficult test with difficult exemplars. You did a fine job.
Congratulations on a successful year in AP English 11 Honors!

Reminder / MISSING WORK
Any writing assignment that comes in after 7PM tonight will be considered late. The assignment was given out weeks ago and extended through the long weekend.
If you have any questions, please email me. Thanks.
UPDATE: As of 5/30, I seem to be missing a considerable number of writing assignments. The assignment needed to be clearly submitted to me via Google docs, in person, or in my mailbox.
If your piece is missing, please turn it in ASAP. It will be downgraded 1/2 letter grade EACH DAY it is late.
Thanks...

Education Symposium Post-Writing Assignment: NOW DUE ON TUESDAY, MAY 29TH
IT'S TRUE. But PLEASE remember that this is you final piece for AP English 11 Honors. This piece should be constructed carefully. Diction, syntax, tone, line of reasoning, use of logos, ethos, pathos... everything will be assessed according to AP standards.
Now it’s time to take what you have learned through your research and apply it to rhetorical situations you may come across in college and/or real life.
Now it’s time to take what you have learned through your research and apply it to rhetorical situations you may come across in college and/or real life.
First, read about the modes below and
choose the one you believe will have the most impact:
An opinion editorial (Op-ed): THERE IS A GREAT EXAMPLE IN THE WARRIOR on voting
A proposed
scope of work for a Professional Development Plan (PDP) or a curriculum
template (see me for the template)
A college essay (if you chose this, please see the links below)
A script for a PSA (we can probably make the PSA happen…)
Then, locate and read at least 3
examples of the mode you chose. A Google search should suffice. What seems most powerful in those pieces?
What would you like to replicate in your piece?
For the college essay:
From Tufts
Advice from Yale
From US News and World Report
From Wellesley
From Johns Hopkins
After that, develop a SOAPS chart; if you have chosen a persuasive piece—your purpose, audience, and strategies will be he heart of your writing.

Finally, craft a clear piece for peer
